Receiving Ministry At Sojourn Church
When Jesus began His earthly ministry, He preached the Kingdom of God and He demonstrated the Kingdom of God by casting out demons and healing the sick (Matthew 4:17, 23, 24). He demonstrated the Kingdom by literally “setting the captives free” – spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
He commissioned His disciples to do the same (Matthew 9:1, 7, 8) and later told those disciples to make more disciples who continue to do the same (Matthew 28:18-20). Not only did Jesus set the captives free, He then went to the cross and paid with His life to secure His victory for us for eternity.
Luke 4:18-19 describes Jesus’ earthly ministry.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19
He then announced Luke 4:21: “…Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Because “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), He is still ministering Luke 4:18-19 today by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can experience His freedom and wholeness and, as His disciples, participate with the Holy Spirit in ministering Luke 4:18-19 to others.
Sojourn Groups are our vehicle to bring about friendship and discipleship. Individual prayer is available in any Sojourn Group. View the full directory of groups offered this season HERE
During every Sunday Service before the Message, we offer an opportunity to receive prayer. A team of trained members are available to agree in prayer for anyone who wants to receive prayer.
Many times believers struggle with thoughts, feelings or actions that prevent them from walking in the freedom Christ paid for on the cross. If you have recognized areas in your life where these situations are the case, consider receiving Personal Freedom Ministry from one of our teams of trained volunteers. At Sojourn Church, Personal Freedom Ministry is a two-part process.
Part I: As a group, you will learn more about the process, meet some of the team members and complete a personal questionnaire that will be used during your 3-hour, private ministry session. Orientation attendance is required to schedule the ministry session.
Part II: Attend your private ministry session where you will meet with one of our trained two person teams for a three-hour time of ministry.
Jesus paid in full for each of us to experience His freedom so that we can walk in His plans and purposes.
This 2-day seminar aids participants in finding the way to freedom by: receiving the love of the Father, embracing the Holy Spirit, knowing who you are in Christ, breaking the bondages of the enemy, and finding freedom from your past. Living in this freedom will help you to be a disciple who makes a difference. Sessions are based on material from Free Indeed, written by Terry Moore.
