Sojourn Church is committed to providing a spiritually rich environment where children can grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Children are a gift from the Lord. They are special to both you as parents and to us as a church. Our kid’s ministry is designed to support parents in their responsibility for the spiritual nurture and growth of their children.
Sojourn Church’s Kids’s Ministry is made up of dedicated workers who love children and are committed to their spiritual well-being. We aim to provide a standard of excellence at every level of our Kid’s Ministry. We understand the significance of partnering with the Lord as He prepares the next generation for the advancement of His kingdom. We want the children to increase in their knowledge of the Bible, to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and to grow in Godly character.
During our Sunday Morning Service, 1st through 3rd grade students will meet in the Youth Room for Kid’s Church that involves a time of worship, games, crafts and a fun biblical lesson your kids will talk about through the whole week. Birth – Kindergarteners meet in the “Color Rooms” and enjoy age appropriate bible lessons, fun worship songs, crafts and games!
Students 4th, 5th and 6th grade engage in the corporate worship time and then are dismissed to the Orange Room for “Impact.” Students 7th – 12th grade attend Youth on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
In order to maintain an excellent standard, our adult/child ratios are a key component in our classrooms. This allows us to create a safe and productive teaching environment.
All of our paid personnel and volunteers have been processed through a criminal background check and many have CPR and First Aid certification. We have high standards of ethics and practices to which we hold all staff.
When the adults meet at Sojourn Church for a service, we make every effort to provide quality childcare. However, one time events and special services at Sojourn often require parents to sign up in advance for child care. Check the event page in the calendar for these special events.
“Train up each child in the way they will go, so that when they turn old, it will not leave them.” – Proverbs 22:6

To advance the Kingdom, we must reach out beyond ourselves. It begins with us becoming salt and light to the world around us and ultimately reaches to the ends of the earth. “…And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NKJ
“JERUSALEM” — OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
It is our desire that everyone who comes to Sojourn would take personal responsibility to pray for those they live around, becoming a “Lighthouse of Prayer” in their neighborhood, building relationships in a non-religious way, praying for the opportunity to release the love and power of God so we can ultimately have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with them.
“JUDEA” — THE DALLAS / FORT WORTH METROPOLITAN AREA
God has placed us in this area to join with other churches and ministries to touch our cities with His love. We work with various inner-city ministries with whom we have built relationships, to serve them and work together to see His Kingdom come here as it is in heaven. We also have joined with other churches to sponsor conferences, joint meetings and outreaches. We recognize that we are only a small part of what God is doing in this area, and we recognize how much we need each other. It is going to take the whole church to reach this metropolitan area for the Kingdom of God.
“SAMARIA” — TEXAS & THE NATION
We have formed, along with Restoration Church and Dudley Hall and T. D. Hall, an apostolic network of churches and ministries called the Fellowship of Connected Churches and Ministries. The purpose of this fellowship is to help the participating churches and ministries become everything God has destined us to be. Through this fellowship we are reaching out to our state and nation.
THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
Starting in 1990 we began to go to the nations. God directed us to build relationships with people whom we believe to be apostles and who share a similar vision. Currently we are involved in Romania, Cambodia, Turkey and India with men and women who are having a major impact in their areas of the world. We have others from our body who have gone to the nations and are now working in Thailand, Mongolia and Spain, and we have hundreds of people from Sojourn who have visited many other nations on short-term trips. Most of our mission efforts focus on what is called the “10/40 Window,” the least evangelized area of the world today.
We pray, serve, go and send money to see the Kingdom of God advanced in the world. Each fall we raise money from our church body to support the work of those with whom we are in relationship around the world. We believe that we are to focus on a few and build deeply with them, instead of working with many whom we don’t know very well. If you would like to be involved in praying for the nations, join us for Nations Prayer.
STEP ONE: Attend a Personal Freedom Orientation. You will learn more about the process, meet some of the team members and complete a personal questionnaire that will be used during Step Two. The cost is $20 per person.
STEP TWO: Attend your private ministry session where you will meet with one of our trained two-person teams for a three-hour time of ministry.
Come to one of our upcoming Personal Ministry sessions to start your journey to freedom!
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 NKJ
Our Style of Worship
The Bible makes it clear that God’s people have always demonstrated their love and adoration for Him in many expressive ways. That is why you will see people at Sojourn freely praising and worshiping through music, singing, shouting, clapping, dancing, lifting up hands, and singing in the spirit.
Though our praise and worship is for Him, we are the beneficiaries because He dwells in the praises of His people. As we come together and focus on Him, He manifests His presence in our midst in unique ways. Many times we are touched in such personal ways that people are healed, delivered and receive awesome revelation of His love for us.
He alone is worthy of all praise and worship.
We were created to worship Him in spirit and truth.
He is looking for worshipers.
Praise and worship is God-centered rather than man-centered.
Praise and worship is a response to His awesome love.
Praise and worship is a lifestyle.
It is our prayer that everyone who comes to Sojourn would become a true worshiper of the One who is worthy of all praise and worship. The expressive praise and worship we have at Sojourn may be different from what you have experienced. We understand this, but we ask you to search God’s Word to see how His people have expressed their praise and worship to Him in the past and will forever do so in heaven.
The youth ministry at Sojourn challenges the youth to be all God has called them to be. Looking at their Heavenly Father and realizing their true identity as sons, daughters and heirs, results in a life of devotion. The love that burns in God’s heart for them – flowing through them – will change their world and ours.
It’s not enough for our youth to just go to church. The world needs a generation who will be the church and do great exploits for their God. That’s why our youth are trained to pray and proactively care for one another and others as God opens the door.
The youth have special worship services, prayer meetings, Bible study, times of training and equipping and regular local outreaches; all are specifically designed to impact this age group and draw them closer to Jesus. We are grateful for the leadership team God has given us for our youth ministry.
Missions and Special Events
In addition to our local outreaches, they have gone on a number of foreign mission trips. They also network with the larger body of Christ and attend youth conferences and seminars during the year. And, of course, they make time for special fun gatherings scattered throughout the year. For Registration for 2018 camps see the bottom of this page.
